The UN Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons reached the required 50 states parties for its entry into force, and it will become law on January 22, 2021.
Unfortunately, Canada boycotted negotiations in 2017 and the government has refused to sign or ratify this landmark Treaty.
In the lead-up to January 22, and beyond, organizations, grassroots groups, and individuals across Canada are mobilizing to advocate for Canada to change course, accede to the TPNW, and advance global efforts at nuclear disarmament.
Find & post events and use the resources on this page to celebrate nuclear weapons becoming illegal this January 22, and take action for change in Canada!
